Interswitch Partners Blackberry To Launch Quickteller Services on BBM
Interswitch, a leading mobile payments provider in Nigeria and Africa has announced a partnership with Blackberry to launch Quickteller services on Blackberry Messenger (BBM).
The partnership will enable BBM users with a Nigerian bank account to request for money, airtime and payment for services using the Quickteller Mini app.
To use the service, a BBM user simply select the attachment option while chatting with a contact, choose Quickteller, enter the amount and make a request.
The recipient of the message simply taps it and enters their account details, and the money is credited to the recipient’s bank account instantly.
“This new mobile payment service demonstrates how we have effectively evolved BBM from the best real-time chat experience to a true social engagement and e-commerce platform,” SVP Emerging Solutions at Blackberry, Matthew Talbot said in a press release made available to TechLoy.
He further said, “By combining the strengths of Blackberry and Interswitch, we have developed a service that puts Nigeria at the forefront of mobile payments and innovations.”
